Announcement of Award Winners at the National New Sake Tasting Competition for the 2021 Brewing Year

Kanai Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that its Shirasasa Tsuzumi sake won an award at the National New Sake Tasting Competition (co-sponsored by the National Research Institute of Brewing and the Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association) for the 2021 brewing year. This marks the third consecutive year that the sake has won an award, following its wins in 2019 and 2020.

By conducting nationwide research on sake produced in the 2021 brewing year, the aim is to clarify the current state and trends of sake production techniques and quality, thereby contributing to the improvement of sake quality and production techniques, as well as raising public awareness of sake. This is a traditional sake tasting competition that has been held since 1911, and is the only sake tasting competition held on a nationwide scale.
